I thought I would start a post regarding new airplanes that members are working on or about to maiden.  It seems that alot of people in the club have new planes (including myself) they have recently flown, are about to fly, or are in the final building phase.  Let's hear about them!!  Post some pics too.

I've sold the extra 330s and in its place I have a QuiQue Yak 54.

102" wingspan

1975 sqin area

the ailerons on this thing are huge.

Hopefully I'll be test flying my QQ Yak 54 on Saturday after the work session.  I'll wait until the second flight to torqueroll it.  :-).

Something interesting I learned during the building process for this plane is don't buy Expert Electronics 48" extensions if you plan to use 6 volt batteries or regulators.  The filters that are installed in these extensions don't like anything above 4.8 volts.

I'll post some pics of the Yak soon.

See you guys at the field,

Doug

Maiden flight went perfect. What an awesome flying aircraft. I guess QuiQue knows his stuff. Here are a couple pics from Saturday August 5th.

Should have some graphics for it before next weekend.

Thanks for posting the pics Craig.

I can't believe no one else has a new plane they'd like to brag about.  Ken Spears did, even though he posted in the wrong place .

Come on guys I know there are a couple new one's out there.  Let's see'em.

This is the part where Dave Weber realizes he needs to put the pictures of his new Yak 54 we just maidened last Saturday, hint hint .

See ya'll at the field,

Doug

OK so I'll post a couple pics for other flyers who recently added to their hangars:

Here is Chuck Ezell's Aeroworks Extra 260 and Dale Sparks's Patty Wagstaff Extra 300s.

Guess I should take a pic or two of my new QB yak 54 by Aero-Works.

Its a great lil flyer, real easy to put together and looks pretty in the air.

I'm really impressed with my Bolly 22x8 on the DA-50R thanks to Doug recommending the prop. It yanks the plane up when the pucker factor gets too bad. There are quite a few yaks at our field now I know of two that Doug has Maidend within the last few weeks..lol

Well, it has been a long time since this thread has had any new posts, so I thought I would add one.

I'm building a Hangar 9 Funtana X100. This is a big change from my trainer! But, I think I should be able to handle it on low rates. I've been spending alot of time on the simulator and with a bit of help and guidance from some one I should be able to land this thing.

I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Jesse
